There are things of peace that come from deep within. A stillness that offers us answers, clarity, and protection. This painting was made before I shaved my head, or was even thinking of shaving my head- but when it was shaved I realized, it's peace I had been waiting for. This stillness that surrounds me now is something I fought for, ironically. When we fight for peace, it seems like a paradox. We must fight in ourselves to find peace and stillness, just as one walking through the forest must push through the dense brush before they get to a clearing. It is a path that opens us up to being grateful for peace. We had peace, and then we enacted chaos upon our lives. This chaos could be ancestral, it could be our own doing, it could be many subconscious pathways that create this chaos. It is a matter of going into your darkest places and fighting for yourself so that when the fight is finally over, you can rest in this place of peace and be grateful for it. Without the fight, we may brush off peace like it was nothing to us. In fact, we do this many times- brush off peace as if it were nothing- until we realize that at any point in that dense brush before the clearing we could have sat, listened, and found our peace within.
May this piece bring it's owner peace, stillness, clarity, and an end to their internal war.
